OUR STORY
Behind the Scenes
Here at Urban Community Project, we’re committed to investing our expertise and resources in order to further achieve our cause. Since 2013, we’ve been supporting our community members in a variety of ways and measuring our success not by monetary size, but by more qualitative measurements such as the scale and effectiveness of our efforts. ABOUT
“To do what is it right- to embrace integrity.”
The Urban Community Project (UCP) is a faith-based non-profit, located in Las Vegas, Clark County, its Nevada based organization. UCP’s focused funding is committed to grass roots, coordinating strong volunteer efforts, where community-project support will generate change. Urban Community Project (UCP) is a non-profit organization pending its charitable, tax-exempt, 501(c) (3).
It was founded by, Apostle/ Prophet Phillip D. Washington- Pennywell. This Godly mantle given to him to prompt others to uphold a standard. That standard is “To do what is it right- to embrace integrity.” We are living in a society for such a time as this, where compromise, is the norm for daily living. Someone has to stand up for what is right. That time is now! Urban Community Project (UCP) is the organization that will accept the challenge and make the difference in this season. We are a resource center committed to promoting wellness to five problem areas of concern in our community. The problems needing addressing have affected not only the communities statewide, but nationally and globally. The severity of these five issues has directly affected our health, youth, economy and employment rate. We believe if we do not collaborate with each other and allied organizations to resolve the issues in these five areas, our nation, will be crippled and eventually perish because of lack of knowledge and compassion for each other’s needs. These are the areas of concern are:
1. Health/Wellness (including Mental Health),
2. Marriages,
3. Homelessness (with our major focus on Veterans),
4. Ex-Prisoner Recidivism, and
5. Youth Re-engagement.
We are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making individuals and families lives better for all. Our decision making process is to inform by comprehensive empirical studies and high quality data evaluation. We strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits for the betterment of the community as a whole.
